La Alpujarra in Watercolour
An artist’s Alpujarra diary…
Lyanne and Hugh Mitchell (from Clarkston in Glasgow) were guests of ours in Canar in April 2011. During the course of their week, I was never more glad to get a text message asking for a hand connecting a gas bottle at El Tinao – over coffee and a chat, Lyanne brought out her watercolour diary of sketches that she’d completed up to that day. It is truly a privilege to present a selection of her work here; indeed, it only took a moment to decide to devote a separate page to show it off.
So, for all our previous guests and visitors to La Alpujarra, I hope Lyanne’s paintings bring back happy memories of some familiar views, and to future visitors, I hope they provide as inspiring a glimpse of life in La Alpujarra as they have for us. I couldn’t be more grateful for Lyanne’s kind permission to display her work, thereby enhancing our website immeasurably.
